PEPPER YOUR TALK

Insecure? Who? Me 🙋🏾‍♀️

On Monday I was on the biggest high

I had just finished a 72-hour faith fast and it was incredible. I heard from God. I was feeling a 10 out of 10. You couldn’t get me off that cloud.

But by Thursday, some old fears showed up.

And believe me, I fought them. I read scripture out loud, speaking God's truth back to myself.

I also know that you can’t just talk to negative thoughts. You have to act against them too, use all your weapons, so I did everything the fears would have loved me to stop.

As a woman, a life coach, a leader. I feel the weight of life too.
But I don't allow that to kill my motivation, momentum and plans. I keep going in the face of it all.

Whenever you see, whatever you see me doing, just know that I'm feeling the 50:50 of life. I'm taking the good with the bad and rolling with it.

I say this because too many people are waiting until they feel 'better' to take action.

“I’ll put myself out there when I’m less scared.”
“I’ll do that idea when I feel qualified.”
“I’ll try again when the doubts are gone.”

They wait. And wait. And wait!
But here’s the truth I need you to hear today. What if those feelings never fully disappear?

What if this is how it's going to be, forever! Good and bad, up and down, positive and negative.

What then?

I was catching up with a university friend this week and told her I’ve spent the last 10 months overcoming limiting beliefs I've held since I was much younger.

And her response didn't surprise me: “Not you, Dior. You’re so confident. You always get things done.”

That thinking is exactly the problem!

People see other doing things, chasing scary goals, putting themselves out there and assume they're able to do it because they don't feel any fear.

They think action = absence of insecurity. It doesn’t!

When you're watching someone do something big, just know that they're doing it while still afraid.

If you’re waiting to feel ready, you’ll never move.
If you’re waiting for the insecurity to vanish, you’ll stay stuck.
If you’re waiting to feel like you belong, you’ll never step into the room.

The only thing that will ever make you feel ready, confident, qualified is doing the thing you’re avoiding.

When I face my fears, I face them by taking action.
By writing the post.
By standing on the stage.
By asking for the favour.

Not because I feel secure but because I want to watch myself becoming secure through the process.

Today after church, one of the leaders shared that another leader used to throw up from nerves every single time she had to speak to the congregation.

I was shocked. I’ve seen her lead with such strength, I never would have guessed she was battling that much fear behind the scenes.

I couldn’t wait to get home and write this to you, because it’s the perfect confirmation of what I wanted to share.

Show up! Do it! Take a step!

The version of Reader you're expecting, will only show up while you're doing the do!

Hit reply and let me know what imperfect, fear-filled action you'll take this week.
And just so you know you're not alone, I have one too!

Until next Sunday,
Dior xx

Subject: The habits you think matter…don’t!

From: Jessica J.
I’ve been beating myself up because I haven’t been able to keep up with the perfect routine I thought I needed for my business. Early mornings, posting every day. It was exhausting and honestly I was starting to feel like a failure.

Reading your story reminded me that I don’t have to do everything to make progress.

I needed to hear it. I’ve just signed up for the webinar because I really want to figure out what my own essential actions are and finally stop wasting my energy.

Did you miss it?
